Islamic banking derives its foundations from the pillars of the economic and financial system and Islamic criticism.

Islamic banks rely on the provision of Islamic banking financing.

The first nucleus for the establishment of Islamic banking in Iraq in 1992 was the establishment of the Iraqi Islamic bank for investment and development, which started his work in April 1993.

The economic and political conditions experienced by Iraq during the nineties as well as the events of 2003 played a role in the inactivity of Islamic banking in its financial dealings during that period, by regained its activity after 2007 where the number of Islamic banks in Iraq increased to 30 banks so far, including one government bank 'AlNahrain Islamic bank' was established in 2012 one of the most important objectives of this research is to identify the Islamic financing formats adopted by Islamic banks in Iraq to provide banking services as well as to identify the applications of Islamic banking through the selection of both the 'AlNahrain Islamic bank and the Iraqi Islamic bank' for investment and development as a case study.
