الملخص EN

The present study is aim to explore and evaluate the role of management information systems in managing the organizational crisis at the office of the ministry of electricity (Baghdad/ Iraq).

Several studies reported certain hypothesis about this relationship and its significancy.

The present study evaluate four variables associated with the management information systems, included: human resources, material resources, programs (software) and networks.

In addition to five variable associated with the organizational crisis, included: the detection of alarms, the prevention, confine damages, restore activity and learning.

The study sample included (102) directors of (department, unit and section).

All the subjects were applied a questionnaire of (43) parts.

SPSS program was used for data analysis.

The study results show the importance of gathering information and encouraging the participation in decision making, the use of new technology and its application at the organizations in a way that help in facing the crisis and avoid its occurrence in future.

The present study recommended the importance of the human resources and the providing of workshops and training courses in crisis management for them.

The cooperation with the universities and research centers which related to the management information systems and crisis management.
