Calciphylaxis in hemodialysis patients : case report

We are reporting here a case of a 65-year-old male diabetic patient with end-stage renal disease on hemodialysis for the last eight months, who presented with painful ischemic necrosis affecting the tips of fingers of both hands.

Laboratory investigations showed high calcium-phosphorous product and high intact-parathyroid hormone.

X-ray of both hands showed calcification of blood vessels and bone changes of renal osteodystrophy.

Peripheral pulses were felt On the basis of these findings the patient was diagnosed as a case of calciphylaxis.
