The actor produces many images related to spoken words or to expressive energies manifested through the actor’s external appearance in which costumes plays a significant role.

The aim of this paper is to question the roles of costumes in ‘the Martyrs are Coming Back this Week’ to scrutinize their contribution in the structure of the show that is subject to this study.

It also focuses on the tasks performed by the show costumes to reveal conflicts between performing selves, and to uncover their hidden discourse.
