The discovery of the book by David Thomsson, a journalist at RFI: Les Revenants (The Returnees) challenged us by its enigmatic character.
It had set up a horizon of expectation based on multiple hypotheses: is it a question of treating the «jihadists» returning to France as spectres, ghosts returning from a territory of war? Is it a question of treating them as ghosts whose return would frighten us insofar as they might once again spread terror in the country? We have therefore subjected this emerging formula to a lexicographical investigation

La découverte du livre de David Thomsson, journaliste à RFI : Les Revenants nous a interpellé par son caractère énigmatique.
Il avait installé un horizon d’attente fondé sur de multiples hypothèses : s’agit-il de traiter les «djihadistes» de retour en France comme des spectres, des fantômes revenus d’un territoire de guerre ? S’agit-il de les assimiler à de fantômes dont le retour nous ferait peur dans la mesure où ils risqueraient de semer à nouveau sur le territoire l’épouvante ? Nous avons en conséquence, soumis cette formule émergente à une enquête lexicographique
