الملخص EN

This study aims at knowing the role played by university libraries in enhancing the free getting of the scientific and technical information via a practical study at the central library of algeria 1 university, as well as the adoption scale of librarians of this new kind of opportunities.

Thus, a number of results bas been achieved and the most important of whitch is that the librarians employed at the central library of Algeria -1- university are aware of the essence of free access to scientific and technical information.

Also, the library users seek to benefit from the different initiatives of free access, in witch the library paticipates by making this service available to beneficiaires depending on their demands, and by the librarians vulgarisation of this type of services.

الملخص FRE

Cette etude vise a connaitre le role des bibliotheques universitaires dans le soutien du libre acces aux informations scientifiques et techniques, a travers une etude de terrain a la Bibliotheque centrale de l’Universite de Alger -1- .Aussi nous voulons reconnaitre l’etendue de l’orientation des bibliothecaires vers ce nouveau type de disponibilite, ce qui nous a permis d’atteindre un ensemble de resultats, dont les plus importants sont :1- les bibliothecaires travaillant dans la bibliotheque Centrale de l’Universite d’Alger -1 - Savent ce qu’est le libre acces aux informations scientifiques et techniques, 2- les lecteurs des bibliotheques cherchent a profiter de diverses initiatives de libre acces, car la bibliotheque y contribue en fournissant ce service aux beneficiaires en fonction de leurs demandes, 3- et en faisant connaitre aux bibliothecaires ce type de disponibilite.
