The research aims to analysis the role of international and governmental institutions in addressing family violence against women.

The importance of this issue is due to the fact that family violence in general is one of the most serious types of violence, because the family is the cornerstone of society, , on the one hand, , and on the other hand, because violence against women is the result of many historical accumulations.

The research thus seeks to answer five main questions, is all about from the theoretical statements of Postmodern Feminism trend and World Systems Theory, since the study of the evolution of a single society is insufficient to truly understand any phenomenon.

The research found that global attention was growing through numerous conferences at which the issue of family violence against women was linked to other societal issues such as development, equality, tolerance and human rights.

International attention has also played a role through the League of Arab States and the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA).

The Egyptian State has also played a role in addressing this phenomenon through its various institutions, represented by: the Public Prosecutor's Office, the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the Ministry of Awqaf and the National Council for Women.
