Abd al-Rahman ibn Muawiyah is considered one of the Umayyad princes who miraculously survived the pursuit of the Abbasids who destroyed the Umayyad state in the East in the year(132AH/749AD) .

This prince was able to embark on a journey full of difficulties and challenges, which he started from Palestine and then Egypt until he settled there in the Islamic Maghreb, and its owner during that period was Abdul Rahman bin Habib Al-fihri, whose relationship with Abdul Rahman bin Muawiya was strengthened, Bin Habib about the intentions of the Umayyad princes who were trying to bring them back to life in this country, and that is why he arrested their preachers and placed them in prison and took their money.

As for Abd al-Rahman bin Muawiya, he sought refuge in the Berber tribe of Nagza, and they are his maternal uncles on the side of his mother, whose lineage traces back to Moroccan origin, where he found with them shelter, safety and protection from persecution of the Abbasids and the Fakhriyen, from there, he looked to the country of Andalusia for its proximity to the Moroccan coasts and the establishment of a king for the Umayyads there.

Andalusia Yusef Al-Fihri defeats him and achieves victory over him, thus he was able to establish an Umayyad emirate independent of the Abbasid Caliphate and reunite the Umayyad family that was dispersed in various countries to restore its glories this time in Andalusia
