I- Egypt is one of the richest countries in history, and the most fortunate of them in terms of originality, thought and civilization.

History and literaturepreserve this authenticity for it.

Therefore, we always return to history, guided by its radiances, aiming to avoid repeating its failures.

This is one of the benefits of history.

It is also one of the fruits of literature that history counts as one of its sources.

II- Undoubtedly, the social problems are the same in people and societies - differ and vary in time and place.

Some of them may disappear; and others may appear that, as a means of solution, call for ways of thinking and orchestral variety of statements.

So, when we remind our present generations of the massive worries and major problems of the recent past that they missed from their memory, we aim to make them aware of the law of life, its vicissitudes, and the struggle of human beings in it.

And that the souls detest the ugly, and seek to get rid of it, whereas they yearn for the beautiful and aspire to make it a tangible reality in art and life alike.

III-This research paper seeks to achieve its goal depending on two parts: - The First of them serves as a (Critical Introduction) in two sections: 1- On the relationship between literature and society (the inevitability of this relationship - the interest of modern criticism in it).

2-The dominant doctrine in our Egyptian literature in the research stage, and in it: A - “Realism”: its concept in the West and its beginnings for us.

B - The battle of correcting our concepts of “Realism” in the last century.
