The house in El-Kantara has known for centuries, transformations of spatial orders in response to the demands of daily life and to economic and technical development.
With these new demands the practices of space change and the spatial forms change too.
These practices have undergone exogenous (French colonialism) and endogenous influences according to local customs.
By analyzing these transformations and evolutions in Kantari housing, it was noticed that linings of traditional spaces exist in modern housing.
Despite the upheaval in the architectural conception of El Kantara, the practices at the level of certain spaces such as the sguifa and the haouche still persist, marked by the symbolic search for intimacy and centrality.
الملخص FRE
la maison à El-Kantara à connu durant des siecles, des transformations d'ordres spatial en reponse aux exigences de la vie quotidiennes et à l'essor économique et technique.
Avec ces nouvelles exigences les pratiques de l'espace changent et les formes spatiaux changent aussi.
Ces pratiques ont subit des influences exogènes (colonialisme français) et endogènes selon les coutumes locales.
En analysant ces transformations et ces evolutions dans l'habitat kantari il a été remarqué que des doublures des espaces traditionnels existent dans l'habitation moderne.
Malgré le bouleversement dans la conception architecturale d'El Kantara, les pratiques au niveau de certains espaces tels que la sguifa et le haouche persistent quand même, marquées par la recherche symbolique de l'intimité et la centralité.
