Children are often vulnerable to different kinds of violence in the normal conditions and it is heightened during the armed disputes.

Children become vulnerable to various forms of sexual violence which significantly affect their development and personalities.

Due to the recurrent armed disputes that happened in various countries of the world and the increasing number of children exposed to sexual violence during these disputes, the international community has taken the responsibility to make efforts to curb this phenomenon through agreements and issuance of international resolutions of which the United Nations Security Council and the General Assembly have a share in this context.

However, these efforts do not properly exercise their role as violations and sexual violence in question are still ongoing.

Lack of clear and accurate information regarding the number of victims escalates the international fight against sexual violence against children during the armed disputes due to the obfuscation by parties of the conflict in this regard.

This would be frequently attributed to the fact that such practices committed by parties of conflict themselves in addition to the ence of international specialized committees played a role in hindering the international efforts.
