Water pollution can be defined as the defile of watercourses, wells, rivers, and seas and make him invalid to humans, animals, plants even organisms that live inside water.

In Iraq, the water sector suffers from many problems, the most important of which is the pollution of drinking water as happened in Basra province and lead to cause diseases to populations.

there are many entities that are responsible for this pollution like the government which is the first responsible entity and companies which is the second responsible entity for any problems on population, and the population has the right to demand compensation by prosecuting after proof of damage from water pollution, here it is the responsibility of responsible entities to compensation of affected populations and do the necessary measures to reduce the spread of pollution to protect human health.
