Offa, King of Mercia (757-796 AD) was a prominent figure in Anglo-Saxon history.

He is one of the greatest and most powerful rulers in that early period in the history of England and perhaps the greatest king of Mercia.

He began his path to sovereignty by various means and was able thanks to his skill, military experience and political intelligence.

The diplomat held the unification of England under his sovereignty, and he looked at the other kings around Mercia as being secondary or subordinate, ruling their country under his sovereignty, and he was a very solid king who reached To power after he eliminated a fierce civil war and then began to make Mercia the dominant kingdom over all of England, he was far-sighted and clever.

He controlled the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms successfully, and Offa established good relations with Pope Adrian I, Charlemagne and the rulers of Europe who all recognized him as king of England and dealt With him on an equal footing, and wire a very, very strong currency which became the basis of trade, not only in the Mediterranean world, but also in many parts of Western Europe, this king who set the rules of currency and trade in England thirteen centuries ago paved the way for England to become A great trading nation, a great naval power, and he issued laws in his name on the basis of which King Alfred the Great formulated his laws and legislations.

He also built a huge dirt barrier on the border between England and Wales and is considered the largest defensive building in the history of England in the early Middle Ages.

King Offa was one of Britain's finest rulers.

He was a great warrior who fought many devastating wars for the unification of England.

He also took care of economic conditions and encouraged commercial activity.

His era is considered the golden age of Mercia, which made him worthy of the title "King of all English".
