In the wake of chad's independence from the french colonization in 1960, this country suffered from many problems as a result of the colonization as it experienced a civil war between the north and the south, it lasted for more than 20 years, the country wasn't able to achieve a national unity among the people of chad, under this internal chadian weakness, the Libyan regime led by Mummar Gaddafi, took control over the Aouzou strip in 1973, and so the chadian aspiration increased in chad by providing assistance and support to " Goukouni Oueddei " the interim president of chad, against " Hussein Habre " the minister of chadian defense.

These developments coincided with the arrival of the Ronald Reagan administration( 1981- 1989), immediately, Reagan announced Washington's full support to " Hussein Habre's " front, the Chadian conflict has taken on a new form, after it was a pure internal conflict, it became an externally polarized conflict, especially after France joined the Classic Colonization force, next to her ally " the United States ".
