Communication theory is one of the most important critical theories in the modern era.

Its importance comes from its literary discourse, from the closed circuit introduced by the formal methods.

The research aims to study the mechanisms of communication in the novel titled Al-Maghzool , by the Saudi novelist Abdel Aziz Mashri, from the perspective of communication theory, a theory that is concerned with creative process (the creator, the text and the recipient) in order to produce the narrative discourse.

The research attempts to present the intellectual vision that comes from the narrator, and whether the narrator has succeeded in communicating this vision to the reader and achieved the function of communication, or was he unable to persuade, and that his role to communicate failed.

The research applied the structural approach.

It was divided into an introduction, a preface and three sections.

The first section dealt with the creator, the second with the recipient, and the third with the text.

The conclusion had some findings, most importantly is that i novel succeeded in conveying the creator's vision to the reader as it was able to convince them.

The novel also had achieved its function of communication.
