The research aims to study and analyze the best ten global university institutional repositories selected by the Spanish Metrics Web classification, in terms of content, types of digital content management systems, number of registrations, language used, storage and retrieval methods, and the research used the descriptive approach (survey) and several results were reached, the most important of which are: That 80% of the university institutional repositories used the open source dspace system, and that press articles came in first place with 90% , and university theses ranked second in relation to the subjective content of the repositories, and that the repository's status does not depend on the number of registrations in place as much as it depends on Quality, use and links to these registrations.
