The spread of social networking sites coincided with the spread of a new phenomenon, which is that parents share pictures and video scenes of their children in the digital community, as they publish their diaries, their actions and behaviors, and their sayings and actions, and this phenomenon is called “SHARENTING” in the West.

It is the excessive use of social media by parents to share content related to their children, such as pictures of children and details of children’s activities.

Indeed, some parents have reached their obsession with participation in placing their children in embarrassing and sometimes dangerous situations and photographing their reaction and sharing it on those sites with the intention of reaping the largest number of views and followers, which brings them moral and sometimes material benefit.

This research tries to define this phenomenon, which is related to a fundamental right of the child, which is the right to privacy, and to clarify the extent of the legitimacy of parents inserting their children into the digital world without their consent.

This will be through two studies.

The first about the right to privacy , the second topic clarifies the legal position on sharing pictures of children on social media.
