The translation question is one of the most pressing and exciting cognitive questions because of its linguistic, literary, intellectual, and scientific concerns.

If translation -as a linguistic and cultural practice- is an intellectual activity that goes down through ages due to the urgent human need for communication, the theoretical awareness of its issues as well as streams and sections would not have been clearly defined until the beginning of the twentieth century with the successive efforts of a group of researchers and scholars who made from translation a subject for scientific study and theoretical reflection.

This study, then, attempts to trace back the numerous and complex translation discourse and elucidate the subtleties of various readings.

These readings have helped establish the perceptions and concepts in order to determine the scientific and non-scientific circumstances of translation emergence as a theory.

Our goal is to comprehend the perceptions that govern the theoretical constructions as well as the practical applications in which we practise translation.
