Modern historical studies tend to study the method of some prominent figures in History through their books and writings.

The significance of this study lies in highlighting the role of Muham- mad Al-'Aqili as a pioneering historian in this area because of the diversity of his production and the abundance of his work.

However، his interest in the history of his region and its heritage made him redouble his efforts.

Therefore، this study aims to highlight the role of Al-'Aqili as one of the leading writers of the history of Al-Mekhlaf Al-Sulaimani region، and the importance of the time period he dated، in addition to the need of the history library for such studies that are based on the study of the historians' methods in history writing.

The study reached several results، the key of which is that Mohammad Al-'Aqili is considered one of the great historians for his contribution of books that enrich the Cultural Library by his broad knowledge and diversified books.
