To mitigate the impact of this COVID-19 pandemic, Algeria has adopted exceptional measures.
One of these measures concerns import restrictions and the blocking of all exports of basic foodstuffs of wide consumption.
The purpose of this article is twofold; on the one hand, it makes it possible to assess the impact of these measures on food imports through the creation of a new development index.
On the other hand, post COVID-19 analysis shows that these emergency measures alone cannot cope with the scale of the crisis facing the country.
To overcome this situation, it is important to adopt a recovery plan by diversifying the economy and redesigning a structural composition of trade
الملخص FRE
Pour atténuer l'impact de cette pandémie du COVID-19, l'Algérie a adopté des mesures exceptionnelles.
L'une de ces mesures concerne les restrictions aux importations et le blocage de toutes les exportations des produits alimentaires de première nécessité de large consommation.
L'objectif de cet article est double; d'une part, il permet d'évaluer l'impact de ces mesures sur les importations des produits alimentaires à travers la constitution d'un nouvel indice d'évolution.
D'autre part, l'analyse post COVID-19 montre que ces mesures d'urgences ne peuvent à elles seules faire face à l'ampleur de la crise dont le pays affronte.
Pour dépasser cette situation, il est important d'adopter un plan de relance à travers la diversification de l'économie et une refonte structurelle de la composition des échanges commerciaux.
