Considered for a long time as an ephemeral act of exchanging words, several academic studies have proven that interpersonal communication is not reduced to acts of speech but that it encompasses all behaviours, gestures, clues and the various symbols having the value of message for others, worse still, silence is as heavy with meaning as logorrhea.

To better situate the relational dimension of communication in our study, we referred to the work of Watzlawick et al.

(1967), Solange Cormier (2008) and many other researchers, for whom all communication involves two interrelated levels: the level of explicit content (content) and the relational level (emotions) which conveys meanings related to the affective state people.

Thus, the objective of this study is to update the interpersonal communication model according to recent variables that have proven their strong influence on this communication process.

Longtemps considérée comme un acte éphémère d'échange de propos, plusieurs études académiques ont prouvé que la communication interpersonnelle ne se réduit pas aux actes de paroles mais qu'elle englobe tous les comportements, les gestes, les indices et les différents symboles ayant valeur de message pour autrui, pis encore, le mutisme est aussi lourd de sens que la logorrhée.

Pour mieux situer la dimension relationnelle de la communication dans notre étude, nous nous sommes référés aux travaux de Watzlawick et al.

(1967), Solange Cormier (2008) et bien d'autres chercheurs, pour lesquels toute communication implique deux niveaux interreliés: le niveau du contenu explicite (contenu) et le niveau relationnel (émotions) qui véhicule des significations liées à l'état affectif des personnes.

Ainsi, l'objectif de cette étude est la mise à jour du modèle de communication interpersonnelle selon les récentes variables qui ont prouvé leur forte influence sur ce processus de communication
