الملخص EN

The purpose of this study was to find out about the reality of self-evaluation in schools beyond primary education in the Sultanate of Oman, and to identify the difficulties faced by school administrators in applying self-evaluation in schools.

To achieve the objectives of the study the researcher developed a questionnaire in order to determine the reality of self-evaluation in schools beyond primary education and the difficulties faced by school administrators in applying self-evaluation in schools of the sultanate of Oman.

Consisting of (76) items were verified sincerity, in a manner sincerity content using the method of arbitration.

and select index persistence factor alpha Cronbach where the reliability coefficient axes between (0.82 - 0.92) while the reliability coefficient of the tool as a whole (0.87), and the study sample consisted of (96) principals and their assistants from schools beyond primary in five regions (Al Bettina South, Al Bettina North, Muscat, AL dakhliya region, AL Sarqiah south).

The main findings of the study that the reality of self-evaluation in schools beyond primary education in the Sultanate of Oman from the viewpoint of the principals has come out with (medium) degree.

There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05 ≥ α) between the mean estimates of the sample on the reality of self-evaluation in schools beyond primary education in the Sultanate of Oman due to the variable type and educational qualification.

There are statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05 ≥ α) between the mean estimates of the sample on the reality of self-evaluation in schools beyond primary education in the Sultanate of Oman due to the variable maintaining educational.

And that school administrators are facing difficulties in applying self-evaluation in schools in the Sultanate of Oman in (high) degree.

There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05 ≥ α) between the mean estimates of the sample about the difficulties of self-evaluation in schools beyond primary education in the Sultanate of Oman due to the variable type and maintain educational qualification.

To sum up, the study offered a number of recommendations according to the study results.

The educational regions should use educational media in spreading the culture of self-evaluation of the school.

And the training of school principals and the team of self-evaluation on the correct application of the tools of self-evaluation, and provide financial support for schools that applied self-evaluation, and employ tools of self-evaluation and not depend only on the questionnaire, observation or achievement tests.
