The article discusses an important topic to many people to understand the Islamic jurisprudence.

Double entendre is a figure of speech whereby a word or phrase has two meanings: clear and hidden, the latter of which is intended by the speaker while the listener understands the former.

It is one way of speaking the truth indirectly so as not to lie, and to hide it from others, to protect oneself and so on.

However, the use of this type of speech is controlled and conditioned.

Thus, this research aims to discuss double entendre, its types, controls, and applications.

The researcher concludes with some results, the most important of which are: the Islam legislation seeks solutions suitable for humans and protect them from lying and clarifying the importance of double entendre in some provisions related to judicature, divorce, etc.
