This study aims at analyzing the spatial and urban balance of the major cities that constitute the centers of the governorates in the West Bank through the use of some methods of spatial analysis such as: spatial mean, standard distance and neighborhood link method.

The study concluded that the spatial mean of the major cities is located south of Salfit and north of the cities of Ramallah and Al-Beirh, and to increase the spread and spatial dispersion of these cities, as shown by the random pattern in the distribution.

The study also showed that there is an imbalance in the urban distribution of these cities.

The study also revealed the effect of a number of factors on the spatial distribution of the major cities such as the demographic factor, the characteristics of the population and the location of the Israeli settlements, in addition social and ecomomical factors, The study recommended the necessity of enhancing the role of other cities such as Bethlehem, Jericho, Tubas and Salfit.

Population distribution has to been taken seriously so that the population does not accumulate in a few cities, and to focus on the local components in these cities and to develop aspects like agriculture and tourism as a central axis to future urban development processes.
