The easternMorocco occupied, during the French protectorate, a particular place in the general economy of the kingdom.
It is a region separated by the Atlas and the Rif and the arid region which stretches from Aioun SidiMolouk to Taza from the Atlantic coast ofMorocco.
However in spite of this, the region is kept linked politically and administratively to it ,and because of its geographic location, the eastern Morocco found itself forced to look for commercial and maritime outlets in the Algerian sector of Oran, which was separated by political and customs borders.
The choice of the most appropriate maritime port for easternMorocco was subject to tensions and conflicts between the Moroccan and the Algerian governments.
These conflicts were strictly linked to the defense of each government’s commercial interests.
الملخص FRE
Le Maroc oriental occupait, pendant le protectorat français, une place particulière dans l'économie générale du royaume.
C'est une région isolée par les montagnes de l'Atlas et de Rif et la région aride s'étendant d'Aioun Sidi Molouk à Taza de la côte atlantique Marocaine.
Mais malgré cela, elle y est restée liée politiquement et administrativement, au contraire en raison de sa situation géographique, le Maroc oriental s'est vu contraint de rechercher des débouchés commerciaux et maritimes dans le secteur algérien d'Oran, qui en est séparé par des frontières politiques et douanières.
Le choix du port maritime le plus approprié pour le Maroc oriental a fait l'objet de conflits et de tensions entre les gouvernements marocain et algérien, étroitement liés à la défense de chaque gouvernement de ses intérêts commerciaux.
