Objectives: The study aims to demonstrate the importance of distinguishing between four Hadeeth and fundamentalist terms that are increasingly confused when dealing with the Prophet›s Sunnah, namely Takhsees (particularization of a general text), Taqyeed (restriction of a ruling), Ziyadatul-Theqa (addition) and Naskh (abrogation), by taking into account the controls related to those terms when explaining the Prophet›s Hadeeth.

Methodology: The research is based on the inductive approach.

It attempts to track the positions of these terms in the commentaries in Hadeeth.

Then, the analytical and critical approach is utilized, using Hadeeth and fundamentalist controls and rules at the same time, applying them to those Hadeeths, as this results in fact in recognizing the meaning as intended.

Findings: The research highlights the importance of identifying differences between similar terminologies when dealing with the Prophet›s Sunnah, the importance of further research in this regard, and that failure to take into account the identification of those differences may lead to misperception and misjudgment.

Indeed, failure to do so has already led to considerable disagreement among scholars.

One of the most important differences between Takhsees and the like and Ziyadatul-Theqa is the knowledge of the multiplicity of narrations of the Hadeeth.

If Ziyadatul-Theqa is found in two different Hadeeths, then this is for the purpose of Takhsees, Taqyeed or Naskh.

If, however, it is in a single Hadeeth, i.e.

narrated by a single Sahabi (Companion of the Prophet) then it is only for the purpose of Ziyadatul-theqa.

Originality: The authenticity of the study lies in being the first to address the differences between some similar fundamentalist and Hadeeth terminology, applying them to some Hadeeth texts while highlighting the effects on understanding those texts.
