The current study aimed to evaluate the recent emerging Arabic experiments in the field of data journalism, based on the content analysis tool to identify the patterns of stories and news reports driven by the data, which were presented through the websites “ the sample of this study” , as well as the nature of the topics, identifying the methods of narration, visual representation tools, sources and types of data.

The study shows two main themes.

Firstly, status of data journalism is still in its early stages, and what is noted is the idea of attracting to the perceptions of data by highlighting the value essentially while other contexts that require further investigations are absent.

Secondly, data journalism is a continuous interaction between two existing models: the primary is that data journalism refers to a pattern of journalism that relies on transmission of facts based on quantifiable evidence.

The secondary model suggests that data journalism refers to the mixing and overlapping between computing and journalism to come up with a new angle for the news story
