In its stage of booming, the Saudi Novel has portrayed the marginalized stratum of society and further provided a narrative topic in a bid to clearly demonstrate the level of awareness reached by the novelist in its theses and insights.

Novelists portrayed the marginalized stratum of society in Makkah in historical periods – namely, the times of Turks in Hijaz Province and the times of neighbors who had merged into the Meccan society and its components.

To this aim, the novel furnished an imagination parallel to the reality; transferring self-image of the margin structure affiliated to this category whose members have level of awareness of its reality and social rank.

Furthermore, the novel has managed to manipulate and impose its presence within the intention of the text, whether thru bringing it to her with the woman, or thru intrusion into it by the personality of the man.

This study is mainly concerned with the image of the margin in the Saudi novel according to the structural approach of Lucien Goldman, where it emerged through the textual structures of the studied narrative achievement, the deep semantic contents behind its superficial structures.

The study was able to recognize the novel's expression of social awareness, where its image was represented in the creative form wherein it appeared.

The novelist is only an individual who conveys the vision of the society s/he represents, even if s/he does not belong thereto, since the novel is a piece of art that accomplishes itself in semantic terms, using the narrative language conveying such creativity.
