In 1939, the city of Bejaia acquired a municipal theater which is a late date as compared to other Algerian cities during colonial times.
the study of theater venues marks the essence of the present work.
for a better understanding of modern theater appearance in Bejaia in particular and Algeria in general, a historical analysis was carried out between the 19th and the 20th centuries.
the prospection of theaters created in colonial situations reveals the existence of various establishments which differ from one to another in their working as well as their lifespan.

La ville de Bejaia ne se dote d'un théâtre municipal qu'en 1939; une date tardive en comparaison avec d'autres villes algériennes à l’époque coloniale.
la prospection de ces lieux de spectacle est l'essence de l'actuel travail.
une analyse historique, menée entre le XIXE et le XXE siècle, permet une meilleure compréhension de l'introduction du théâtre moderne à Bejaia spécifiquement et en Algérie plus généralement.
la prospection des lieux de théâtre, créés en situation coloniale, montre l’existence de divers établissements qui diffèrent les uns des autres dans leur fonctionnement et dans leur durée de vie.
