This research studies the importance of smart design in furniture and its impact on the lifestyle and individual’s behavior within residential environments.

Research problem lies in the lack of awareness of interior designers about the role of smart design in furniture and how it can affect the performance, efficiency, and services of residential environments, and improve individual’s behavior to raise the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of interior design.

The descriptive analytical approach was used by conducting a questionnaire and interviews to find out the opinions of specialists in interior design about the impact of smart furniture on individuals’ behavior in residential environments.

Findings confirmed that: (1) Smart furniture provides large areas compared to its multiple functional uses, in addition to accuracy and elegance in design, which raises the performance, efficiency and services of residential environments, (2) Smart furniture is a development included in life based on digital technology.

Which is concerned with the principle of providing consumption and an economy based on the acquisition of basic needs at the lowest costs and within the reach of everyone, (3) Smart furniture is designed to enhance comfort and well-being, relieve pressure, tension and fatigue, and maintain the health and safety of the individual through modern technologies used in it, which can monitor the health of the work of body functions Through the sensors placed inside this furniture, and finally raising the levels of privacy for individuals within residential environments (4)The use of smart furniture with modern designs adds an aesthetic touch to the residential environment and gives it a kind of elegance and beauty, Finally, (5)Smart furniture increases the functionality that the individual feels when Its use is through the multi-functionality of the smart piece of furniture, which leads to a positive improvement in the individual's behavior within residential environments
