The research study aimed to know the role of the media in security awareness in confronting rumors and to identify the appropriate methods for all media in dealing with the danger of rumors, as well as to identify the obstacles that limit the role of the security media in preventing the risk of rumors, as this study used the descriptive approach.

And among the results of the study that the members of the study community strongly agree on the appropriate methods used by the media to confront rumors, and the results showed that the most prominent of these methods is the control of sources and sites of communication such as the Internet for the adoption of extremist ideologues on them, and through the results that the obstacles facing the media in raising awareness Security awareness in confronting rumors is a decrease in awareness among members of society, and the study confirmed that security awareness and media use of websites and social networks to warn against rumors and respond to them by confronting the news related to rumors in an objective way to avoid their circulation among individuals
