This research deals with Imam Muhyi al-Deen al-Nawawi’s tracings, in his book “A Course in Sahih Muslim’s Exegesis”, of Qadhi Abi Al-Fadhal Ayyadh Al-Yahsubi in his book “Perfecting the Teacher with the Benefits of a Muslim’s Book”.

It has extensively analyzed these tracings along with classifications, simulations and preponderances.

The research has indicated the big number of such tracings which reached a total of a hundred and fifty-four, and demonstrated their diversity and their belonging to the field of narration and knowledgeability.

The number of those tracings related to narration was fifty-four.

They concerned identification of men's names and genealogies, the different wordings of the body of Hadiths, Prophet’s traditions, as well as the reporters of some specific words and sentences in these texts.

Tracings relating to the field of knowledgeability were greater in quantity and quality and these reached a hundred cases.

Their subject matter concerned names of men, i.e.

narrators, judging and rating traditions, terminology issues as well as hadith interpretation and jurisprudence.

The research shows how Imam al-Nawawi competently excelled in displaying these tracings and discussing them with Qadhi Iyyadh.

This encouraged the researcher to favor Imam Nawawi’s views in most cases
