During the periods of armed conflicts, girls face many violations, the most serious of which are forced marriage practices, which have been widely observed in contemporary armed conflicts.

Despite the protection afforded by international humanitarian law, most victims of forced marriages do not have access to justice to hold perpetrators accountable.

The aim of this study is to conduct an analytical legal study of the practices of forced marriage targeting girls during armed conflicts, highlight the violations committed under the guise of “marriage”, and the position of the international criminal courts against such practices.

This added to stressing the need to classify forced marriage as an independent crime under international humanitarian law.
