The study aimed to identify the level of death anxiety and its relationship with depressive symptoms for a sample of the elderly in Jordan.

the study sample consisted of(80) elderly people (40) elderly residents in the role of social care and (40) elderly residents with their families.

between (60-74) years.

the two scales were administrated : the measure of death anxiety and the scale of depressive symptoms.

the results of the study showed that the prevalence of death anxiety in a sample of elderly in Jordan reached 52.19%.

the level of depression symptoms for a sample of elderly in Jordan reached 52.82%, results also showed that there were a positive statistical significant relationship between death anxiety, and the results of the study showed statistically significant differences between the elderly in terms of sex (males and females) in both death anxiety and depressive symptoms in favor of males in the death anxiety variable and in favor of females in the variant of depressive symptoms , there are also statistically significant differences for the elderly in terms of age for the benefit of elderly people (65- 69 years) in both anxiety and death and depression , there are also statistically significant differences between the elderly in terms of residence (whom live in parents and whom live in shelter institution) in both death anxiety and depressive symptoms, in favor of the elderly whom live in shelter institution.
