The study aim at designing a program to acquire metacognitive skills according to the Rush model.

The problem of the study was neglecting many modern strategies in learning, among which is the metacognitive strategy that expedites the development of the metacognitive skills of the individual and the effect this has on the behavior of the individual in solving problems.

The study aimed to design a program to acquire metacognitive skills according to the Rush model.

Knowing the impact of the program designed on acquiring metacognitive skills.

The researcher followed the comparative experimental method and concluded that the distinctive feature of metacognition skills in the pre-test for students of the College of Education Ibn Al-Haytham - University of Baghdad is characterized by the decline, the distinctive characteristic of metacognition skills in the tribal test for students of College of Education Ibn Al-Haytham - University of Baghdad is characterized by height.

There are statistically significant differences in metacognitive skills in the pre and post tests for students of the College of Education, Ibn AlHaytham - University of Baghdad.

The study recommended the use of the Rush model as one of the paradigms of the underlying features theory in constructing tests for different types of thinking.
