The study sought to build a proposed educational program based on virtual museums and measure its effectiveness in developing skills of historical thinking and archaeological awareness, and determining the pattern of the correlation between the amount of growth in skills of historical thinking and archeological awareness among middle school students.

the study community included the second intermediate class students in government schools for boys in the city of Jeddah, and they numbered (12055) students.

the sample of the study was represented by the second intermediate class of students in prince Feisal Bin Fahd Bin Abdul-Aziz al-Saud school in the city of Jeddah, and they numbered (30) students.

the study followed a quasi-experimental approach - with one group design.

two tools were used to collect data: test of attitudes for historical thinking skills, and archeological (pre / post) awareness scale.

the data were analyzed using a set of appropriate descriptive and in ferential statistical methods through the SPSS program.

the results showed that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α≤0.01) between the mean scores of the study group students in the pre and post applications in the attitudes test of historical thinking skills and the archeological awareness scale in favor of the post application.

the results also showed a high effect of the proposed educational program in the sample, where the influence coefficient (eta squared) for the two approved variables was (0,98 and 0,99), respectively.

the ratio of black's modulus to the adjusted gain of the accredited variables reached (1.59% and 1.37%), respectively, indicating a high effectiveness of the approved variables for the proposed educational program.

the results revealed a correlation described as strong, direct, and positive, reaching (0,854) at the level of significance (α≤0.01) between the two approved changes.

the results also revealed a linear predictive dependence relationship of the beta value of (2,58,0,28), respectively, at the level of significance ((α≤0.01) between the two approved variables.

based on the results of the study, a set of recommendations was presented.
