The industrial sector is one of the most important economic sectors in strengthening the material foundations of any economy, and is considered the main pillar in the development and growth of the domestic product of the various economies of the world.

Upgrading the existing industries and it should be one of the basic objectives of any comprehensive development policy, and in the Iraqi economy, industry began to decline after the events of 2003 For two reasons, the first is the openness in foreign imports, and the second is the rise in the value of the gross domestic product after allowing Iraq to export crude oil without quantitative restrictions on its exports and the high level of the Iraqi dinar exchange rate, which led to a decrease in the prices of imported goods compared to local industrial goods.
