الملخص الإنجليزي

Modern Arabic literary studies are concerned with keeping pace with the lifechanges occurring on the structure of Arab society at the political, economic, social, cultural and religious levels, and trying to monitor the aspects of these changes, at theindividual and group levels.

These studies promote their various arts in order to carryout an artistic dissection of the Arab reality in light of the current developments thathave changed the demographic and ideological fabric of Arab society; As a result, shifts emerged in the methodology of Arabic language studies and literature.

It hastended to present a new literary material that has direct contact with society, and has aclose relationship with the most minute details of reality.

The title of our research was marked with The Novel by Mohammed Saber Obaid asan example, With the aim of highlighting the role of the novel in reversing the changesand developments whose chaos has struck the individual and the group in Iraqi society, in which the events of this novel take place in light of the duality of the active axis ofthese variables; Iraq was afflicted with the entry of the Islamic State in what is known asISIS, and before it was afflicted by the American invasion.

This study seeks to conducta pictorial survey of the Iraqi reality under the control of ISIS, where life has changedbecause of this intruder.

The individual and the group.

The study will present a set of results that show the functional role entrusted tothe art of the novel in relation to reflecting the reality of an Arab society that differedcompletely from what it was before and after the entry of “ISIS”, so signs of thisdifference appeared on the individual thought and the collective awareness of the Iraqisociety.
