The German Oriental School played an important role in building bridges of civilizational communication between the Islamic world and Europe, and made many contributions in the field of linguistic studies.

It had original contributions in publishing an awful lot of manuscripts, printing linguistic Arabic heritage and translating the Holy Qur'an.

The present research paper seeks to reveal the ability of German orientalists to deal with the Arab heritage, through their efforts in various fields of Arabic linguistic research, in an attempt to investigate the most important figures who excelled in Arabic writings, whether related to the history of Arabic literature, dictionaries, or the investigation of manuscripts, and their works that served the Arabic language.

Among those who excelled in this field are Raiske, Nöldeke, Brockelmann, Fischer.
