A comparative study in inventive thinking among students of the universities of Tikrit and SamarraThe current research aims to identify the levels of inventive thinking among students of the University of Samarra and Tikrit, and the significant differences of moral in inventive thinking according to the variables (university, gender, and specialization), the research sample consisted of (450) students from both universities, as for the research tool was established.

The two researchers built the inventive thinking scale, and using statistical means (complete-square, the Pearson correlation coefficient, the Test for one sample and two independent samples), the following results were shown: 1- The students of the two universities of Samarra and Tikrit have inventive thinking with a good degree, and this means that there are many factors that have led to the existence of inventive thinking in Iraqi society in general.2- The presence of significant differences in the degrees of the research sample of students according to the gender variable (males - females) and in favor of males, and this indicates that males are more inventive than their female colleagues.3- The presence of statistically significant differences in the degrees of the research sample of students according to the variable of specialization (scientific - human), and in favor of the scientific specialization, and this indicates that students of the scientific specialization are the most inventive thinkers of their peers among the students of the human specialization.
