This study aims to study the topics of hunger and misery in Germinal of Zola, it's about putting in perspective the metting between the struggles of labourers expressing the extremely harsh conditions of work in mines and the phenomenology of hunger and misery caused by poverty, exploitment and pauperization.
The analysis of the topic of hunger, its manifestations in the artwork and it's different dimensions shows how hunger shaped a whole revolutionary mentality in the miners and it structered the foundations of a collective identity that stayed in the history dynamic.

Cette étude vise à étudier les thèmes de la faim et de la misère dans Germinal de Zola.
Il s'agit de mettre en perspective la rencontre dans ce récit des luttes ouvrières exprimant les conditions pénibles et extrêmes du travail dans les mines et de la phénoménologie de la faim et de la misère provoquées par la pauvreté, l'exploitation et la paupérisation.
L'analyse du thème de la faim, ses manifestations dans l'œuvre et ses différentes dimensions démontre comment la faim a forgé tout un esprit révolutionnaire chez les mineurs et a structuré les fondements d'une identité collective qui s'assume dans la dynamique historique
