الملخص EN

The current study aimed at investigate school mobility and its relationship with school adjustment and academic achievement among students in public schools in the sultanate of Oman.

the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach.

the study population consisted of obligatorily and voluntarily mobile students totaling (862) males and females in tenth, eleventh and twelfth grades in the academic year 2018/2019 attending public schools in north batinah governorate of the sultanate.

the study sample consisted of (236) male and female students who were chosen randomly.

the researcher developed a scale to measure school adjustment, the validity and reliability of which was assured.

after collecting data, it was analyzed using means, standard deviations, frequencies, percentages, point-biserial correlation coefficient and spearman correlation coefficient.

the results showed that percentage of the voluntary mobility is greater than the obligatory mobility.

the level of school adjustment among mobile students was high and there were noticeable statistical differences in favor of the female students’ school adjustment.

there was also a statistical correlation between school adjustment and type of student mobility.

however, no significant relationship was noticed between type of student mobility and academic achievement.

there is also a statistical correlation between academic achievement and school adjustment.

however, there were no significant differences found in regard to students’ grade level.

the researcher recommended enhancing school adjustment among mobile students by providing educational and model programmes on ways to strengthen school adjustment among students.
