Badr al-Din al-Ayni is considered as one ofthe 9th century grammarians.

He had considerablework in the linguistic and jurisprudencesciences.

I chose the phenomenon of his Hamzdue to his careful dealing with this phenomenonin his book “Al-Binaya Sharh Al-Hedaya”which is considered as an encyclopedia of linguisticjurisprudence via many examples.

Thisstudy is organized in an introduction and prefacein which it was briefly explained the definitionof Badr al-Din al-Ayni, And his book: (( Al-Binaya Sharh Al-Hedaya)).

Then, the researchis divided into two sections: In the first sectiondeals with the provisions of the Hamz in Arabic: First, Hamz in linguistics and an idiomaticexpression.

Secondly, the pronouncing of thehamza and its description in the ancients andmoderns.

Third, the conditions of the hamzah: “the investigation” and “the mitigation”.

In thesecond section, the Hamz is studied according toBadr Al-Din Al-Ayni in his book (( Al-BinayaSharh Al-Hedaya)).

In the end of this paper, there are a conclusion along with the sources andreferences.
