الملخص الإنجليزي

This study aimed to identify the insured's obligation to notify the accident in marine insurance and insurance of vehicles in Jordanian law.

This was showed in law number (924) paragraph (2) of the Jordanian Civil Code which show the condition when the insurence fall is due to delay in reporting about ehe accedant.

The most important findings of this study are: The Jordanian legislator explicitly states that the insured must be notified of the incident or loss in marine insurance.

The duration of the accident is also specified.

That the insured must inform in suitable period which is during three days from the date of knowledge of it, which we found to be unfair to the insured in some assumptions, since it is a relatively short period and may not allow the conditions of the insured to direct his commitment during it, especially if we read it under the harsh penalty imposed on Insured as the weak party in the insurance contract, the Jordanian legislator explicitly stipulated that the insured must be notified of the accident or loss in the insurance of the vehicles.

He also did not specify the period for which the insured should inform the insured of the incident to the insured, Determines the period in which the insured must inform the insured during the accident For only the text on being a reasonable period of time, which has left so estimate the reasonableness of this period, the judge, according to the circumstances of each incident.
