This study aimed at identifying the impact of using social media sites on psychological security among the students of Al-Tafila technical university.

The study sample consisted of ( 395 ) male and femal students who were chosen in the clustered random way from the different specialties.

In order to achieve the study objectives, two scales were developed; the scale of psychological security and the scale of using social media networks, their validity and reliability were verified and then were applied to the study sample.

The results showed that the level of psychological srcurity among the user was medium and that the degree of using social media networks was high, where the researcher noticed that there is an impact related to using social media networks indicated by the statistically negative relationship at ( 0.05 ).

the results also revealed that there is adifference in the relationship between using social media networks and psychological security among the students of Al-Tafila technical university due to gender and faculty.

The study recommended the necessity of holding media and educational campaigns in order to educate the students and youth about the best way of using social media networks as well as protecting them from the risks of cheating, exploitation and privacy violation.

The study also recommended conduacting similar studies to other samples, such as the secondary stage students and the students of other universities.
