الملخص الإنجليزي

This study aimed at identifying the prevailing leadership styles among the principals of private schools in Al-Karak governorate, and the patterns of organizational opposition practiced by teachers and investigating the relationship between them from the perspective of the teachers.

This study used a simple random sample consisted of ( 300 ) which was selected from the population of the study.

The correlation descriptive approach was used, and a three-part instrument was developed to achieve the objectives of the study.

The first part : includes the demographic variables of the respondents, and the second part : to measure the first variable : prevailing leadership styles, and the third part : to measure the second variable : the patterns of opposition practiced by the teachers, and the validity and reliability for the instrument were established.

The results of the study also showed a positive correlation between the two types of democratic and laissez - faire leadership styles and public opposition, and positive correlation between the autocratic leadership style and the embedded and substitution opposition.

In the light of the revealed results, the study came up with several recommendations, the most important of which were : Holding training courses to qualify managers in practicing the democratic leadership style and activating the role of professional unions to protect teachers and granting them sufficient freedom to express their opinions and ideas freely.
