الملخص الإنجليزي

This study aims to reveal the degree of compliance of English teachers with the requirements of teaching language skills in the Action Pack ( 1-3 ) series of English for the first three primary grades in the directorates of education in Al-Karak and Al-Qasr.

The study used the descriptive analytical approach through a questionnaire developed to include basic language skills in teaching English for the basic stage ( listening skill, speaking skill, writing skill, reading skill, vocabularies skills, classroom management, student assessment ).

The study sample included ( 112 ) female teachers of English language for the basic stage.

The results showed a moderate degree of compliance of teachers with the requirements of teaching language skills in English, were the requirements of the assessment of students have the highest compliance degree; while the compliance requirements for speaking skills have lowest degree.

In addition, there is no significant difference between English teachers’ degree of compliance with the requirements of teaching the curriculum of the first basic grades according to the variables of : educational qualification, years of experience, training courses, or the interaction between them except the student assessment, listening skill and in favor of more experienced teachers.

The study provides several recommendations including the need to adopt the requirements of teaching language skills in English for the first three grades as stipulated in the teacher guide book, activity book, student book, as well as the development of evaluation criteria by the supervisory and administrative authorities to measure the extent of compliance with those requirements.
