The study aimed at identifying the level of obatetric anxiety among pregnant women and its relation to the social support provided by the husband in Karak Governorate and the relationship with some demographic variables.

The study sample consisted of all pregnant women 325 in Karak Governorate.

To achieve the aim of the study, two scales were developed.

The first one : The obstetric anxiety scale and the second : the social support scale.

Their reliability and validity were verified.

The study found that the level of obstetric anxiety among pregnant women in Karak Governorate was moderate and for all areas.

The degree of social support among pregnant women in Karak Governorate was high and for all fields.

The study also found a positive correlation between the level of obstetric anxiety and social support.

Results showed that there were statistically significant differences due to the effect of ( number of pregnancies ) variable at the level of obstetric anxiety among pregnant women in the field of ( physiological symptoms ) and at the macro level, in favor of category ( second and above ), in addition to the absence of statistically significant differences due to the effect ( medical Pregnancy level ) variable at the level of obstetric anxiety among pregnant women in Karak Governorate.

The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences due to the effect of ( the nature of pregnancy and the number of pregnancies ) variable on the degree of social support provided by the husband in Karak Governorate.

In light of the results, the researcher came out with a set of recommendations : Designing instructional programs for pregnant and expectant women in order to ease their psychological stress and making leaflets for pregnant women's husbands to deal with the anxiety of the pregnant wife in order to improve the psychological support provided by the husband to the wife.
