الملخص الإنجليزي

The study aimed at developing the depression scale for students of Mutah University, and detection of psychometric properties of the scale.

The aim was also to find out the differences between students at the level of depression for this purpose Arandom sample of ( 858 )male and female students was selected from Mutah University distributed to scientific and humanities colleges, where the number of students in humanities colleges( 466 ), and scientific colleges ( 392 )for the academice year ( 2018\2019 ),The results showed the following : There are no statistically significant differences at the significant level ( α≤ 0.05 ) in the degrees of depression due to gender variable, and there differences of statistical significance at the level of( α≤ 0.05 ) in the degrees of depression due to the variable college ,and the differences were in favor of student of humanities college, the degree of depression was higher among students of humanities colleges, and there are no statistically significant differences at the significant level( α≤ 0.05 ) in the degrees of depression due to interaction between colleges and gender, and standards for degrees on the scale are representative by rankcases and ( Z )marks, and ( T )mark,Where the mean of the degree of depression in the humanities and scientific colleges( 118.88 ), and the value of the coefficient of stability of the scale ( 114.05 ), using the formula kronbach Alpha ( 0.862 ), using the method of half –division ( 0.779 ), Honesty was computed through the universal honesty of data that showed that the scale had high saturation levels greater than ( 1 )true in the method of global analysis.
