The study aimed to determine how cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) can help in reducing the social anxiety of adolescents orphans in welfare institutions in Lebanon.

In this Context, Social Anxiety is a health condition.

It is an intense, persistent fear of being watched and judged by others.

This fear can affect work, school, and other day-to-day activities.

To test the hypothesis that Social Anxiety could be improved with CBT, we applied a therapeutic program to a sample consisting of 78 male and female adolescents orphans between the ages of 11 and 18 years who lived in a welfare association and were divided into control and experimental groups.

We follow the quasi-experimental in this study to estimate the causal impact of the intervention.

As tools, we made a Liebowitz pre-and post-test for social anxiety.

After analyzing the data, the study concluded that welfare institutions in Lebanon have many aspects that need improvement, especially in following up on the mental health of children and adolescents.

We also found that social anxiety among adolescents in welfare institutions is high on the Liebowitz scale.

Finally, the results showed an effect of the CBT program, and the social anxiety decreased.
